4 Tips To Stay On Track This Holiday Season

So, get this.... It's already almost Halloween... I feel like 2018 has lasted a total of 45 minutes. This is, statistically, the time that people start falling off the fitness and nutrition wagon and start saying whatever. It can be an amazing few months, or it can be the most stressful couple of months. Our goal from now on, is to stay focused on our goals and plan for these get togethers and events wisely. By the time New Years rolls around, we will be prepared with better habits and already on track; there will be no starting over this New Years!

1. Make Healthy Substitutions

Chances are, you will go to more than one place this holiday season, some days, more than one in a day. This could mean swapping chips and dip with vegetables and dip, or just swapping your coke for a 0 calorie coke. Instead of a 600 calorie margarita, try replacing the margarita mix with a 0 calorie soda or even something like lime juice. Anything to drive down those unnecessary calories! Make sure that, if you know you will overindulge on a particular food, limit it! Also, you're in control, so bring a healthy dish! Even if you are the only one who eats it, that just means more for you.

2. Drink up

WATER! DRINK IT! It's harder to drink more water the colder the weather gets, but drink plenty! When we don't drink, we feel lethargic, hungrier than normal, and just off. Remember the rule, half your body weight in ounces.

3. Protein is key

Always remember, protein is key. So make sure to eat that first every meal, and eat plenty! If you follow this rule, you'll be less hungry for all the rest of the junk that could be on your plate!

4. LIVE A LITTLE

In the case that you do overindulge a day or two... who cares!? It's just a few days, get back on track the next day like nothing ever happened! It's defiantly good for your mental heath to sometimes let go, and eat some things that aren't "good" for you!

So enjoy this holiday season coming up! It's the most wonderful time of the year!
