5 Ways To Lose 5 Pounds Before Christmas!
If you're currently not subscribed to my Platinum Membership, or if you aren't doing online training with me, and you're still struggling to dial in your nutrition, I want to give you some help that could help lose weight DURING the month of December, instead of waiting for January.
1. Eat a palm sized portion of protein every meal. It doesn't have to be chicken or steak, it can be whatever source of protein you want (venison, turkey, lamb, pork, beef, etc). The only catch is, I want you to eat your protein first, before anything else. This is because protein is the most satiating and has the highest thermic effect of foods, which means it burns more calories to digest it. #ProteinAndProduce
2. Half your plate should be vegetables. This isn't just about losing 5 pounds, this is about keeping it off and living a healthier and longer life. So, after you eat your protein, I want you to eat PLENTY of veggies. Half of your plate worth of green fibrous veggies, I don't care which kind you pick (green beans, broccoli, kale, not lettuce, collard greens, asparagus, etc.) #ProteinAndProduce
3. Get some sleep. Possibly the most underrated aspect of weight loss and fitness overall, is sleep! Although, it is arguably the MOST important part. I'd say it should be held at a higher priority than working out... meaning if you're waking up early (and only getting 5-6 hours of sleep) you're doing it wrong! There is a direct correlation between a continuous lack of sleep and obesity [1]... so get at least 7-9 hours of sleep, make this a priority!
4. Cut out processed sugar. Now, this 4th way was going to say "Replace all carb sources with sweet potatoes" but I realize there are some people who don't like sweet potatoes (I know right, it's sad). But I decided to make this one about cutting out processed sugar. Now, you know I don't believe in cutting out things for good, but if you wanna lose some weight before Christmas, let cut it out until then! It'll more than likely cut down on some of those calories. Then, when Christmas hits, let's introduce it back in with moderation!
5. Make working out a priority. This is the time of year where working out isn't important. Most people think that it's pointless since they'll be eating badly anyways or since they can't make it every day to the gym, they might as well not go. Which is NOT the case, this is the most important time of the year to make sure you're getting into the gym, because it'll become a habit and priority come January when you're wanting to make a resolution. Plus, if you wanna lose 5 lbs by Christmas, obviously working out is going to be involved. There should be no excuse, my website has workouts EVERY DAY of the week. (Click here to find out more). Oh, and make sure to lift some heavy weights!
